For over thirty years I’ve been telling Diddly Wack stories during children’s time in church. Diddly is a funny looking kid. I didn’t want him to be a cute kid that people love by looking at him. I wanted him to be a funny looking kid that people would love by knowing him.
For over thirty years the saints who heard these stories would encourage me to put them in a book. This is my effort to do just that with one of them. I pray those who read it will fall in love with Diddly. But above all, I pray they will see the love of God and be heartened.
-R.L. Gillen
There was a man named Bob Wack. He was a nice man. His smile was so friendly that people wanted to know Bob Wack. When Bob Wack wasn’t smiling, he looked rather odd. He had long straggly hair, with the tips of his ears sticking out from between his hair. He had a big nose that seemed to dip over his unkept beard. He was about six feet tall and very strong.
When Diddly awoke he was on a floor in an empty room. It was still very dark. He heard screaming and hollering and laughing. He got up off the floor and felt around the room for a door. He found a door and opened it. It led to the outside. As soon as he stepped out he heard a strange voice loudly speak...
“Diddly!”
